What do you and your company do in the biogas sector?
Dalkia produces and distributes energy for homes, public buildings, industry, and business. We are leader in heating network management and a recognised expert in cogeneration and bioenergy. We offer our clients the complete service along the biogas value chain: feedstock management, biogas plant project development and operation, biogas grid injection, and energy supply based on biogas cogeneration.
How do you see the market for biogas developing in the next 3 years?
In Germany the biogas market will get back to high growth rates. Bio-methane (i.e. grid-injection of biogas) will achieve the breakthrough. In other European countries biogas markets will develop step-by-step.
What are the biggest short term challenges to market growth?
Financing of investments during the financial crisis.
What do you think are the most exciting developments in this area at the moment?
Upgrading of biogas to natural gas quality and injection into gas grid: This makes a renewable energy available wherever there is a gas grid (e.g. in City Centres) and whenever it is needed. |
